Located in east Zambia's Luangwa River Valley, this incredible park is known for its abundant wildlife, stunning river teaming with hippo & crocodile and woodland savannah. It also home to the famous reception elephants at Mfuwe Lodge! South Luangwa is one of the best-known national parks in Africa for walking safaris and exhilarating night-drives where big game hunt for prey.
Right on the Zimbabwean border to the south of Zambia, the Lower Zambezi is known for abundant wildlife, including buffalo, fish eagles, large herds of elephants (no giraffe) and lions/leopards. Canoes and Kayaks ply the river which is home to hippos & crocodiles. Covering 4,092km², most of the game is concentrated along the valley floor. This is also the place for keen fishermen.
Despite being one of the oldest parks in Zambia, Kafue has in recent years gained momentum in becoming a leading safari destination. It boasts a huge variety of antelope herds, therefore there are eager-eyed predators at every turn. Cheetahs can be found in the north of the park and there are regular sightings of lions, hyenas and cape wild dogs. It is also home to the stunning Busanga Plains wetland ecosystem.
Found in the oldest section of Africa's Great Rift Valley, North Luangwa has limited road networks and is one of the few parks you can explore on foot. The only park in Zambia with the Big 5, you can truly immerse yourself in the African wilderness. Utterly remote, untouched and wild, it offers one of the finest wilderness and wildlife experiences in Zambia and is known as Africa's best-kept tourism secret.
Victoria Falls is part of the mighty Zambezi River which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Livingstone is Zambia's gateway to this one of "Seven Natural Wonders of the World."
